…So finally, I have a break from education.
What better to do on the first evening than shoot?
Sunset time, except for the portrait.

A leaf, obviously. Or not so obviously. The sun is behind the leaf, thus the glare.

I had to shoot this one some 5-6 times. The giant bokeh is the sun.

All in all, some photographs.

If you haven’t already seen this, check out Aza’s new post on his Ubiquity UI changes.
Everyone with the latest Ubiquity release candidate should have a new skin called “experimental.”
I love it. The UI is perfect, and I thought it just needed some basic CSS design tweaks.
Here is my shot at it:

The changes are mainly transparency related, and they’re for Windows users (i.e. tested only on Windows).
You can check it out here.
Some inspiration was obviously from Enso, but the rest was just obvious.
Maybe in hues of blue as opposed to green? I’ll see.
Enjoy,

Lately, I’ve been taking (overtaking) photographs in green tints and tones, without really realizing it.
Examples:

And then by using green as a complimentary colour:

Strangely enough, I’ve noticed that (even subconsciously) my photographs are reflecting my mood at the time of not only capture, but also editing.
That can sometimes lead to a conflict of purposes (second to last shot), and sometimes be fine (most others).
Is this then showing some weird relationship between moods and photographs? Does a photographer really have complete control of his photographs? Or does one’s mood, merely at the time, shape the overall tone of the photograph?
I’ll leave you hanging.

Here it is, only for those of you running the Ubiquity 0.1.3 RC Beta.
And the Beta will soon be relesead!

Skinning in Ubiquity is now supported.
Check out the wiki on skinning, and look at the awesomeness of Abi’s additions.
So, if you haven’t already, check out Abi’s post about Ubiquity’s UGLINESS here.
Currently, I’ve been working on some updates to Simpliquity, making it look more interesting, here is a screenshot of me messing around:

Soon, you’ll be able to have this nice-ness all for yourself. By default!
I’m also doing some font research to see if I can port the skin for Mac…for Linux, that is something else.
I’ve also been thinking about what others want in general as far as skins, so here are your limits:
- Think top left. That is where the command line currently is.
- Think transparent. It looks cooler, IMO.
- Think efficient. The above giant font might not be the best example, but give it a shot.
I’ve been brainstorming about center-based UIs for Ubiquity as well, and I’ll be uploading some mockups soon.
So, tell me, what do you want? Something lite? Something color-based? Anything that resembles anything else?
On the note of the blog, I’m trying to get everything back up/managed…bear with me.

Can you tell I was nuked?
I’m tweaking the theme/getting everything up again.
I’ll probably dedicate a page to Ubiquity themes, so be prepared.
Also: working in the WordPress HTML tab of the WSIWYG is so much easier.
